The Miramichi Salmon Museum Inc. (Atlantic Salmon Museum) is located at 263 Main Street, Doaktown, NB on the banks of the beautiful main Southwest Miramichi River in the Village of Doaktown. The Provincial Archives of New Brunswick can be of immeasurable service to those seeking information of an historic nature, either on the Doaktown area in particular or on the Province of New Brunswick as a whole. The Central Miramichi Historical Society is a good place to start if you’re looking for answers to specific questions regarding the Doaktown area and its past. Also at the Society’s disposal are a large number of photos dating back to the mid-1800s and depicting various facets of life on the Miramichi. The Doaktown Community Adult Learning Centre (CAL Net), currently located at 328 Main Street - Unit #2, has a wide variety of heritage photographs for sale. Also available are books highlighting the contribution made by area residents to Canada's military over the last century.
